Approach
I created a series that first captures my mom's hands with a soft aperture and then juxtaposes each shot with a stark documentary shot that uses flash and a sharp aperture. Both shots relate to what her hands are doing so that we accumulate an intimate conceptual portrait of her through learning what she does throughout the day as well as catching a glimpse of her personal possessions.
