Digital Collage
Scope
Create a visual composition and narrative through a photocollage in Photoshop with a specific story or theme behind it. Use print overlayed with projected light to create a visual spatial experience.
Approach
As an exploration of consumerism, AI, and industrialization, the grotesque AI-generated imagery advertises natural landscapes, romantic love, sunshine, bodily health, sex and spirituality. This intends to say that the only means toward the end of these innate human pleasures is increasingly by way of transaction. In addition, the empty representation of these pleasures serves as the primary form of stimulus in this otherwise dismal environment.

Laser-Cut Vector Composition
Scope
Create a composition of a natural or urban landscape with a Photoshop collage, transferring this to Illustrator to vectorize the file and prepare it for laser cutting.
Approach
I drew inspiration from 70s sci-fi landscape artwork, intending to create a futuristic landscape that suggests a lost civilization. The complex foreground takes advantage of the layered medium, and the inclusion of the bacteriophage virus creates new historical possibilities for the viewer to imagine.
Made using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, a lasercutter, paint, and colored pencils.

Self Portrait
Scope
Open-ended self-portrait allowing any medium, as long as it has digital illustration and is digitally created (no photo collage). The design of the portrait should communicate different meanings, ideas, or emotions.
Approach
As a studying graphic designer, I created a self-portrait infographic to share my personality. The imagery and the writing speak satirically, although the descriptions are truthful.
Made using ibis Paint X followed by Adobe Illustrator.

Interactive Projection
Scope
Synthesize the experiences learned from the semester demonstrating an artwork in any medium that uses a digital art technique or influence. Students must write a 1,000-word proposal that explains the commentary provided by the piece.
Approach
As my summative project, I created an interactive HTML site, a blank page with ever-morphing Rorschach forms that transform into animals when clicked. This piece explores the recycling of organic matter that has taken place since the beginning of life on earth.

PROCESS
I made 66 digital illustrations of animals and uploaded them to Illustrator. I included a diverse selection of animals from each taxonomical order. Of these 66, 15 are humans.
For each illustration, I made a blend. Each blend has 58 steps, which, when exported, translate to 58 frames per GIF.
For "filler" or "idle" GIFs, I made 8 abstract illustrations. Each blend, whether animal or abstract shape, share the same starting and ending image, making them seamlessly transition.
I created GIFs from the frames I made in Illustrator.
I coded an HTML file that would trigger animal GIFs upon click, with abstract GIFs playing on idle.
