SUMMARY
I created this poster for the course Informational Graphics, which prompted us to use visual storytelling to present data visualization relating to any scientific field.
This graphic won 3rd place in the “Infographics” category of the 25th annual Michigan State University Society of News Design (MSUSND).
PROCESS
I began with the research question: ”Fungi fundamentally stand apart from plants and animals—but how, exactly?” To answer this question empirically, I gathered data that helped differentiate between the fungus, plant, and animal kingdoms.
I analyzed this data and selected that which seemed most salient to help explain an overview of the fungus kingdom.
After several critiques and iterations, I concluded with the final version below.
